Unleash your inner artist and explore the world of art with Linwood Arts’ diverse and affordable classes and activities.

Embark on a creative journey with our 11 weekly art classes and activities, catering to artists of all ages and skill levels. Discover the joy of artistic expression through a wide range of classes, from beginner-friendly drawing and painting to dance and creative writing. Whether you’re seeking a therapeutic art for wellbeing session or a free class for the family to do together, we have something for everyone.

You can join most of our classes anytime and do as many as you like. There’s usually no enrolment but numbers are limited by the space in the room so book ahead to avoid disappointment. You can book as many dates as you like up to 8 weeks in advance by emailing arts@tewhare.org or phoning 981 2881. Please make sure you give us a phone number when you book. We will be launching an online booking system soon.

Fees range from free to $20 per class. Concession cards are available and reduce the cost of a class to either $7.50/$6.50* or $15/$13* each. A 6-click concession card costs $45/$39* and 10-click costs $75/$65*. These cards can be used interchangeably to pay for any of our Centre-run classes and are valid for a year from the date of purchase.

*Discounts are available for Community Service Card holders.

Our commitment to fostering creativity extends beyond our regular class schedule. Outside opening hours, we hire our spaces for arts-related activities and events, as well as community meetings. Current regular activities include Life Drawing on Tuesday evenings, African Drum and Dance on Wednesday evenings, Queer Community Yoga on Thursday evenings and a Writers’ Group on Sunday mornings. There are also tango meetups and other dance groups that gather semi-regularly.

Please note that we don’t offer any classes that are suitable to bring children under 6 years old. Some classes are suitable for children aged 6-13 but they must be accompanied by a caregiver who does the class as a participant alongside their youngster (except the free kids classes which do not require this). Please check the specific class you’re interested in before bringing children.

Book now! Online link here or you can use our old system and email arts@tewhare.org or phone 03 981 2881. Don’t forget to give us a cellphone number and email address when you book so that we can send you a confirmation email and a text reminder the day before your class.

We cannot offer a refund if you don’t use up your concession card within one year or if you just change your mind. A great way to start is to come to one class as a casual participant before committing to buying a concession card. Another good option is to buy a $45/39* card and use it up trying out a range of different classes until you find the one/s that suit you best.
